The Chef Watson project from IBM and bon appetit shows the truly breathtaking possibilities of Big Data. Simply enter an ingredient into the web interface and Watson will recommend a handful of things to pair it with as well as suggested dishes to prepare.
It’s all powered by an analysis of 10,000 bon appetit recipes by Watson. The supercomputer figured out which ingredients tend to work well together based on past behavior and food chemistry; basically it learned taste.
