Online retailer Zappos is deeply committed to revitalizing downtown Las Vegas. The company is also frequently at the cutting edge of using technology to connect with consumers.
Given those two things, it is perhaps no surprise that Zappos has recently been using its social media accounts in a very unexpected way: to promote and live-stream the Vegas Nightlife Fights.
The company has used its established social presences – on Twitter, Facebook, etc.– to highlight the upcoming slate of boxing matches each week, then live broadcasting the actual fights (#downtownthrowdown) on Periscope and Snapchat.
