Yesterday, as FC Barcelona battled Paris SG in a Champion’s League quarterfinal match, an unlikely brand featured an unlikely blog post about the Spanish soccer club.
The brand was Salesforce, and the topic was email marketing. Specifically, the company’s blog showcased a story – published the day before – about how FC Barcelona has pursued a savvy strategy with it’s reactivation campaigns.
While sometimes brands try too hard to force connections to real-time events, this particular post felt relevant – largely because it was authentically about the team (albeit in a different context).
